Omg Kader Keita is a bastard, acting like a sissy to send Kaka off ARGH. This has been a disappointing World Cup so far, with almost all the big nations flopping, especially France. Their team is in shambles, and its even worse now after the Anelka incident. Sigh there goes my favourite team to use in FIFA...
On another note, Brazil and Argentina have been doing ok. Brazil just beat Ivory Coast last night, and it was a good game besides the handballs during Fabiano's second goal and the Kaka sending off. Hope Portugal scores a ton against North Korea tonight!
There comes a point when we realise our own status. I just realised mine. Behind the shiny mirror of nice words, encouragement and apologies, its all empty talk really, isnt it? We're actually strangers. Who the hell do i think i am, being there for you? Nah. Maybe i should leave it alone. Of course, if u ever needed me, i'd still be here.
And honestly, i hate studying.

FIFA WORLD CUP 2010 South Africa is finally here on June 11th 2010!!!!
To celebrate, a few of us went down to the Cage to play. Had fun XD
The opening match of the World Cup just ended, with the score at 1-1. Sigh looks like my 2-0 prediction for Mexico was wrong :( And the most ridiculous thing happened to me. I went to the toilet and missed the historic moment of the first goal of the first World Cup to be held in Africa. I feel like killing myself! But Tshabalala's goal was nice, hit into the top corner. The mexican keeper wasnt Ochoa though, it was Perez, who was such a clown. I think he though he was a centre back as opposed to a keeper, he kept rushing ou of the box. And i was baffled by the managerial decisions, from taking Vela off for the bloody slow and fat Blanco to South Africa taking off Pienaar when they were tied at 1-1. Everyone's hearts stopped when Mphela hit the post at the end of the game for South Africa.
Marquez scored the equaliser btw.
Chicharito looks kinda good! Missed a few chances though. Things look bright :)
Looking forward to the remaining games of the World Cup :D

Aren't holidays supposed to be time for resting? Doesn't seem that way now. Back in pschool, The june hols were always my favourite time of the year. Uninterrupted cartoon shows on tv the whole day, get to play gameboy and computer... This year, seems like the june holidays are to be spent doing work and studying every single day. Though of cos im not doing that. Got study lah lol
My parents have gone to Cameron Highlands, and wont be back till sunday. Its the reason why i've postponed all studying and work. Played FIFA World Cup South Africa on my xbox like siao for the past two days. Tmr probably spent the same way, besides playing soccer at simei with the guys. I need to make sure the remainder of the holidays is spent properly!!!
Went for NS medical ytd (or the day before if u want to be strict) with Joe, Samuel and Christopher. Luckily we had each other for company cos it was really intimidating lol. And the MAPAS test was sick with all its number and picture patterns and shit. And i was damn hungry cos i didnt eat breakfast and the whole thing only ended around 2. So we chionged to the hawker centre opposite CMPB and i gorged on food lol
The World Cup is coming! Im really getting the world cup feverrr. Im rooting for Argentina and Portugal this time, for obvious reasons. Though of cos how can i resist the talent of Spain! Its going to be a great World Cup XD
Reading Richard Dawkins is illuminating. Most of my idle time (i.e waiting for buses, queuing up) is spent ruminating on his ideas and his books. Its wonderful to think of living things and the universe with a new perspective. Reading his books is a real eye opening thing, so i recommend his books to evryone, even if ur against his views. It doesnt hurt to learn more things :) Here's an excerpt from his book, Unweaving The Rainbow..
"We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born. The potential people who could have been here in my place but who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Arabia. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA so massively exceeds the set of actual people. In the teeth of these stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here." Richard Dawkins, Unweaving the Rainbow
U can't help but love his use of metaphors.
I wonder why we fall in love? Everyone, even Professor Dawkins has an opinion on it. Of course, his view is really a biological one. But then even as i ask the question, i think its stupid. Why do we need to know the reason? Love is one of the crazy things in life that just happens, where we are pushed into like how a draft of wind detaches a loose leaf from a tree, sending it spiralling towards the ground. The rush of falling, the excitement of not knowing what its going to be, of thinking of the other person's every trait. Thats what makes love wonderful. Like the saying goes, "Better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all". It doesnt matter if it hurts like mad, as long as u put all ur heart into it. Even if it never works out, at least u know u didnt lie to yourself. And then again i think of the situation where a person chooses to be with another, just bcos the latter has feelings for the former, even if the former already has someone in his or her heart. Some may say its so that u don't hurt the other person. Some say it takes time to develop feelings. But i dunno, i guess its just wrong. Isn't it lying to the person and urself when u do this? Can this kind of love really last? Maybe it can. I wouldn't want something like this though...
I like this quote...
"Absence is to Love what Wind is to Fire; it extinguishes the small and kindles the great" - Roger de Bussy-Rabutin
This has been a weird post-_- Sighhh staying up till the wee hours a few days in a row does queer things to a person's mind.
Shall go and sleep. Maybe play one last match on WC2010 first XD
